You can do better. Untangle still malfunctioning, Tents … almost everyone. At least in my iPhone 3G

I usually play at Galaxy, Light Up, Bridges, Loopy, Rectangles and Pattern.
No problem in my 3G.

It seemed to be working fine for me at the start, but today it stopped working entirely. I can’t even launch the app – it just hangs at the grey launch screen, and never moves on. Eventually the device goes to sleep, and when I wake it up and unlock, I just see an all-black screen. I deleted and re-downloaded PuzzleManiak, but I still have the same results.

After the black screen shows up and I exit the app, it won’t even launch at all. The icon just darkens momentarily, but it never opens successfully. Is there a way I can re-download an older (working) version?

Restarting the phone seems to allow it to start up again, but all of my stats have been lost due to the re-download.

Hello,
I love the app.
Unfortunately the app resets everytime I close it.
So all the scores are gone.
Can you please look into it.
Kind regards,
Erwin

I have changed iPhone to model 4. Now filling is working much worse than on 3gs. Most of the games is working worse on iOS 4. They are working not so smoothly. Pegs, Filling, Mines, Tents… There are so big delays… Especially on Filling

I’m having an odd problem w/ Slant in the free edition — Level 4 shows that I’ve beaten the Bronze time twice but still gives Ranking: None.

It’s significantly better than the previous version, but many of the games seem fairly slow for me on iPhone 4. Particularly Untangle.

Galaxies on iPad HD version is a lot slower in reacting to presses – you can queue up actions that take 10 or more seconds to show up on screen (the speed is ok using the iPhone version on iPad)

There is a HUGE problem simce the ios 4.2 upgrade: all my scores have been mixed up, games are not sorted as usual and even after resetting most of the time scores are not stored anymore… If you kill the app via the new multitasking option, scores are lost, this is really killing the whole experience. My favorite app became the worst ever in just one day. This is not acceptable, please do something !!!

For the scores, it was a bug in the previous version.
It looks like you have to reset manually the scores to a stable state.
Sorry for that.
You can chose how games are sorted, by total of played games, or alphabetically.
For the scores not saved when killing the game, I’ve already fix this bug and i’ll provide an update to Apple soon.
Sorry for that.

Do you have any idea when the upgrade is going to be available on the appstore ?
Thanks in advance

The latest update and/or the iPad update has made most of the games virtually unplayable. Movement is incredibly sluggish and slow.
I’m sure this is a simple fix, that’ll turn this currently one star game back into the five star game it deserves to be.

I have a small issue – the little symbol indicating that I have played the web challenge for a game gets cleared at around midnight local time. These used to only be reset when the next web challenge was set on the sever – around 11am (midnight UTC)
So now if I play a few web challenges with my morning coffee, the list has been reset in the afternoon and I don’t know which ones I’ve played.

Dominosa – Maybe make it possible to highlight two numbers at the same time like on the Puzzles-Dominosa website? Or am I just overlooking that feature?

Hi,
I played this game way back in the days before App Store on a iPhone 2G device.
There was then a game much like “Net” but where you moved the pieces around, not rotating them.
What was that game called and will it ever be made available public again?
Big thanks for your efforts and any comments are welcome!

I can’t remeber which one you’re talking about.
But no more games will be added to puzzlemaniak anymore, sorry for that.

After upgrading to iOS 4.3, the app now crashes when I try to enter a different game or reenter an existing game after backing out (including choosing “Give Up”). When I start back up it works correctly (but a “given up” game is still there clocking time).

Is PuzzleManiak HD still being maintained? I love the app, but there are a couple of long-standing problems that bug me:
* Tents does not always generate puzzles with a single unique solution. Often there are 2 or 6. This wouldn’t be so bad except that it only accepts one of the valid solutions.
* In Blackbox, when you use the tool to mark squares, they aren’t highlighted. Works fine in iPhone version.
Any chance of an update to fix these? Thanks!

For tents, I’m 100% sure that the solution are unique. Please make a screenshot the next time you face this issue.
For blackbox, I’ll try to fix that right now.

Read the rules carefully and you’ll see that there is always one unique solution:
You have a grid of squares, some of which contain trees. Your aim is to place tents in some of the remaining squares, in such a way that the following conditions are met:
* There are exactly as many tents as trees
* The tents and trees can be matched up in such a way that each tent is directly adjacent
(horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally) to its own tree. However, a tent may be adjacent to other trees as well as its own
* No two tents are adjacent horizontally, vertically or diagonally
* The number of tents in each row, and in each column, matches the numbers given round the sides of the grid

I have now been convinced of my error. The key point is that the “adjacency” rule between a tent and a tree is not the same as for two tents, as I had assumed. If you read the rules carefully, you’ll see that no two tents can touch diagonally, which disposes of many cases that I had thought were valid solutions.
This additional constraint actually makes the puzzle much easier, whereas I had found it to be one of the hardest before.
